Thank you for such a generous offer. This is my first time here but I must say…it ‘feels’ good. I am a reporter, but am also a blogger — and I love it. The name of my blog is The ParmFarm.com (I play on my last name…) and it’s about ‘growing’ – both personally and professionally. Writing from the heart is a whole different exercise than reguritating facts — much more challenging, but also much more rewarding. It’s been very fulfilling. Most proud, perhaps, of my ebook (you can download for free…) which is about reinventing yourself…something that I’m sure will resonate with many of your readers.

    Thanks again for the opportunity,

  6. I am a man with personal experience of alcoholism in my family, over several generations. My personal problem has been with control; my desire to ‘cure’ the alcoholic. It’s a common thing for men to do, we are so action oriented that we think we can solve anything.

At ‘Male eXperience’ i write on men and men’s issues. I cover the whole field of men’s issues from masculinity, through relationships to personal issues such as addiction.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Sober ID is a rear side ID tag that I created so that doctors could more easily avoid offering narcotics to people that may be in recovery. I am passionate about this subject because I know first hand of several women that have started recovery and got right back on the wrong track after a well meaning doctor or doctors gave pain med prescriptions, even for myself as well. I got fed up when an emergency room director explained to me that their system to identify a drug seeker or user is to monitor that person over several visits and then flag them. I asked her-but what happens about the meds that they get in the mean time -and how many times is several- because in some cases several meant “over 12″ narc shots and 11 oxy prescriptions over a 3 month period. And it’s so cute- the better your insurance the longer it takes to get “flagged.” That’s what we are up against and we have to change our thinking sometimes in order to get better control of the people that have control of the drugs that are tearing our world apart one pill at a time. I send my tags to facilities where sobriety long term is the goal. but I allow others to order them if they cannot afford the treatment facility that has them.
