Meet Tess Marshall: Creator of Take Your Fear and Shove It!

I’d like to introduce you to my friend Tess Marshall of The Bold Life. Tess has an awesome blog, so be sure to check it out. She has also been an amazing supporter of Treatment Talk.

Fear is very much at home with us when we have addiction in the family. At times we live and breath fear, especially when our child is addicted. Learning ways to let go of our fear and get our lives back will bring us to that place when we can find peace of mind.

1. Please introduce yourself to the readers for those that do not know you.

I grew up with 9 siblings on a produce farm. I learned to be bold, stand up for myself, and get my needs met at a very young age. It was about survival then.

I have a master’s degree in counseling psychology. I like to inspire others to live a bold, fearless, and meaningful life through my blog. The Bold Life is a mix of inspiration, spirituality, and personal development.

Tess Marshall

2. Why did you decide to create your website The Bold Life?

I love to inspire people to overcome their fears and live-out-loud. I worked as a therapist in private practice in Michigan. I started my blog after we moved to the Southwest. I wanted to do something new. It has allowed me to reach people all over the world

3. Tell us about your ebook, Flying by the Seat of My Soul. Why did you write it?

I’ve had an amazing life journey. I married when I was 17 and was mom to four daughters by the time I was 22 years old. When the girls left for college, my family, friends, and clients kept telling me to write my stories down. I finally did.

The book integrates my moving personal stories, and profound lessons. The book has provided hope to many readers. I’m still married to the same person! Our 40thwedding anniversary is January 14.

4. Please tell us about your new ecourse, Take Your Fear and Shove It! Who is the ecourse for and how can it help those suffering with addiction in their family?

The ecourse is designed to take one beyond excuses, procrastination, worries and doubts…from fear to freedom. It provides the map, tools, and techniques to be bold, play big, and shine bright.

I’ve had a successful career, over 20 years of experience, as a therapist, speaker, and writer. The ecourse provides the proven tools and techniques that I have used myself and with clients…

It’s the culmination of everything I’ve learned. I’m still asked, “How do you do it?” This course is my answer. You only need to apply it to your own situation.

As for those suffering with addiction in their family, the course will help them focus on the actions they can take to improve their own lives

It offers a map to self-love, faith in oneself, risk-taking, how to positively anticipate your future, and achieve a deeper appreciation of life and everything in it.

5. When you are not busy writing and creating, what do you do in your free time? What are your passions?

I’m passionate about my family! I spent a lot of time traveling and visiting them. I could go anywhere in the world but I always find myself preferring to be with them. Two of daughters and their families live in Michigan. We have three grandchildren… pure joy. It’s the closest I’ve come to unconditional love.

I also love to be in nature. I began running 25 years ago when I quit smoking. I ran a half marathon in Seattle last summer. Hiking is the Southwest is simply divine! If I’m not working you’ll find me outside enjoying our beautiful weather!

22 years old with four kids must have been an extremely difficult experience for her. She already have huge responsibilities at an early age. Being successful in the end is worth the admiration especially to have conquered many trials to get where she is now. I like the topic she covered in her blog about conquering fear. Fear is one of the factors that prevent us from moving forward. It is great that she is providing inspiration as well as advices to conquer fears.
